Your main StreamKite plan has an expiry date, and once it passes, your streams stop and your dashboard goes into a locked, read-only state until you renew. The good news is that renewing takes about a minute once you know where to look. Here’s exactly how it works, what it costs, and what happens if you let it lapse.

Where to find it

The Renew option shows up in a few places depending on where you are in your billing cycle:

• A yellow banner near the top of your dashboard once you’re within your final days before expiry, showing exactly how many days are left.
• A red banner if you’ve already expired and entered the grace period.
• The “Days Left” quick-stat in your usage widget — clicking it opens the renewal modal directly.
• The Renew button inside the door panel’s Overview tab.

How to renew, step by step

1. Click any “🔄 Renew” button — they all open the same renewal modal.
2. Choose monthly or yearly billing using the toggle at the top.
3. If you haven’t already purchased a renewal, click through to the checkout page matched to your exact plan size and billing cycle.
4. Once purchased, you’ll receive a renewal key. Paste it into the “Enter your Renew Key” field.
5. Click Renew Now. Your plan’s expiry date extends immediately and the modal confirms success.

Renewal keys follow a specific format — they start with RNST- (or the shorter RN- variant). If you paste something in a different format, the field will tell you it’s invalid before it even attempts to submit.

• A warning banner once you’re inside your final stretch, showing your exact days remaining and the specific expiry date.
• A validity jar visual on your dashboard — a simple fill-level indicator that turns red once you’re down to your last few days, giving you an at-a-glance sense of urgency without having to read exact numbers.

What happens if your plan actually expires

If you don’t renew in time, two things happen in sequence:

1. Grace period. Immediately after expiry, you enter a grace period — your streams are stopped, but your media and settings are preserved untouched. A red banner shows exactly how many days remain in this window.
2. Full expiry lock. Once the grace period passes without renewal, your dashboard shows a full lock overlay confirming all streams have been stopped, with the renewal button front and center as the only way forward.

The key thing to understand: your data isn’t deleted the moment you expire. The grace period exists specifically to give you a buffer to renew without losing your slot configurations, media, and settings — but it’s not indefinite, so it’s still worth renewing promptly rather than relying on that window.

A note on renewal attempt limits

If you’re troubleshooting a renewal key that isn’t working, be aware there’s a rate limit on renewal attempts — after 15 attempts within a rolling window, the Renew button temporarily disappears with a message telling you when to try again. This exists to prevent abuse, not to penalize genuine mistakes, but it does mean you shouldn’t rapid-fire retry a key that’s failing — double-check the format first (it should start with RNST- or RN-) before resubmitting.
