Whether you’re setting up your first stream or you’ve been running a dozen channels for months, questions come up. This is a single reference covering the most common ones — from the basics of getting started to the deeper corners of the Power panel.
Getting Started
1. What is a PassKey?
Your PassKey is what gets you into your dashboard — no separate login or registration required. Paste it into the field on the login screen and your streams load.
2. How many stream slots do I get on each plan?
Plans come in 3, 5, or 10 slots, each with monthly or yearly billing. You can scale beyond that with addon slots.
3. How do I add my first stream?
Click “+ Add Stream,” give it a name, paste your platform’s full RTMP URL (including the stream key), then upload your video file to it.
4. Which platforms are supported?
YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, TikTok, Instagram, Rumble, Trovo, Kick, DLive, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Dailymotion, and any custom RTMP destination.
5. Is there a free trial?
Yes — a free 15-minute trial runs on an isolated server so you can test the platform before committing to a plan.
Slots & Streaming
6. Can I run multiple streams to different platforms at once?
Yes — each slot is fully independent, so one can stream to YouTube while another goes to Twitch, simultaneously.
7. How do I create several stream slots at once?
Use the bulk stream creator in the Power panel’s Start tab — paste up to 25 stream keys, pick a platform, and it builds every slot in one pass.
8. Why can’t my bulk creation process more than 25 keys?
That’s a fixed limit per batch. Paste more and the excess gets trimmed automatically with a warning; run the tool again for the rest.
9. Can I duplicate an existing slot?
Yes — duplicating copies the slot’s settings but not its media, so you’ll need to upload a file to the new copy separately.
10. How do I delete a slot?
Click the delete icon on the slot card and confirm — this stops the stream and removes its media permanently.
11. Can I reorder my slots?
Yes — drag and drop slot cards on your dashboard to rearrange them.
12. What does the platform badge on each slot card mean?
It’s auto-detected from your stream key’s URL, showing which platform (YouTube, Twitch, etc.) that slot streams to.
Scheduling & Automation
13. How do I make a stream start automatically every day?
Use the Smart Scheduler in the Power panel — set a start time, stop time, and which days it applies to.
14. What’s a blackout window in scheduling?
A gap inside your scheduled hours where the stream should stay off even though it falls within your normal window — useful for nightly maintenance.
15. What’s the difference between scheduling and stream chaining?
Scheduling runs on fixed clock times. Chaining reacts to events — starting one stream the moment another stops, regardless of what time that happens to be.
16. How does auto-recovery work?
Enable it per slot in the Automation tab, and a crashed stream will automatically retry restarting up to a set number of times before giving up.
17. Why is my scheduled start time firing at the wrong hour?
Almost always a timezone mismatch — set your timezone in the Power panel’s Timezone tab before relying on scheduling.
18. Can I set a stream to stop automatically after a certain number of hours?
Yes — auto-stop supports both a fixed date/time and a simple “after X hours” option.
Media & Playlists
19. What’s the maximum file size I can upload?
5 GB per file.
20. What’s the playlist storage limit per slot?
5 GB total per slot, with up to 50 files in a playlist.
21. Can I reorder files in a playlist?
Yes — drag and drop within the playlist manager, or use the up/down reorder controls.
22. Can I upload while my stream is live?
No — the stream needs to be stopped before replacing its main media file.
23. What is the Media Library?
A single view in the Power panel listing every file uploaded across all your slots, with format details and quick access to each slot’s stream key.
24. What does the Loop Counter track?
An estimate of how many times your video has looped during the current streaming session, based on elapsed time.
25. What does Reassign Key actually move?
Only the RTMP destination between two slots — not the uploaded media, which stays with its original slot.
Organization
26. How many groups can I create?
Up to 10 per PassKey, with group names capped at 10 characters each.
27. Can a slot belong to more than one group?
No — each slot belongs to exactly one group at a time.
28. What happens to slots if I delete their group?
They simply become ungrouped; nothing about the actual streams is affected.
29. Can I search for a specific slot?
Yes — the search box filters by slot name or stream key.
30. Can I pin important slots to the top of my dashboard?
Yes — click the pin icon on any slot card to keep it at the top regardless of sort order.
Analytics & Health
31. Where can I see how many hours each stream has run?
The Analytics tab in the Power panel breaks down monthly hours per slot.
32. What does the stability percentage mean?
It’s the share of your total slots currently running without a crash — a quick health signal for your whole setup.
33. What do the bitrate colors on the Health tab mean?
Green means healthy, yellow is borderline, red means the stream’s bitrate has dropped low enough to investigate.
34. Can I export my full stream data?
Yes — the Download tab offers CSV, JSON, TXT, or a styled HTML report.
35. How do I estimate my bandwidth usage before scaling up?
Use the built-in bandwidth calculator in the Media tab — enter your bitrate and stream count for hourly, daily, and monthly estimates.
Alerts & Notifications
36. What triggers an alert?
A stream crashing or stopping unexpectedly, your plan or addon nearing expiry, entering a grace period, or hitting your slot limit.
37. Where can I see past alerts?
Alert History, right below the Active Alerts list in the same tab, holding up to 30 entries.
38. Can I get alerts outside the dashboard?
Yes — set up the webhook dispatcher to push stream events to Discord, Slack, or any webhook-compatible tool.
Security
39. How do I lock my dashboard with a PIN?
Set a 6–30 character PIN plus a security question in the Slot Lock setup, then click the lock icon whenever you want to lock the screen.
40. Does locking the dashboard stop my streams?
No — it only blocks dashboard controls. Streams keep running normally while locked.
41. What if I forget my PIN?
Use the reset option, answer your saved security question, and set a new PIN — though resets are limited per month.
42. How are my stream keys kept safe in the Key Vault?
They’re displayed masked by default, only revealed temporarily when you click to view them, and auto-re-hide after a few seconds.
Billing & Plans
43. How do I renew my main plan?
Click any Renew button, choose monthly or yearly, complete checkout, then paste your RNST- renewal key into the modal.
44. What happens if my plan expires?
You enter a grace period first — streams stop but nothing is deleted — followed by a full lock if you still don’t renew.
45. What’s the maximum number of addon slots I can buy?
100 addon slots per PassKey, on top of your main plan.
46. Can I pause my subscription instead of cancelling?
Yes — pausing takes your streams offline while keeping your files and settings safe, and you can resume anytime.
47. Can I switch between multiple PassKeys easily?
Yes — save each one with a nickname in the Account Switcher and switch with a single click.
Rewards & Support
48. How do I earn free extra days on my plan?
Check in daily, use your daily and monthly spins, and keep streams running — then claim your points into days once you’ve hit 15 stream days that month.
49. How many support tickets can I have open at once?
Up to 3 active tickets at a time; closed tickets don’t count toward that limit.
50. Can I refer friends for bonus days?
Yes — sharing your referral code gets you +5 days per successful referral, and gives the person you referred +7 days.
The short version
Most questions about the StreamKite dashboard come down to a handful of themes: how slots work, how automation ties together, and what happens around billing. If your question wasn’t covered here, the in-dashboard FAQ tab or a support ticket will get you a direct answer fast.
